TO BUILD A BETTER LIFE

FOR ADULTS
WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

To assist young adults with special needs as they transition out of educational entitlements and into the "real" world through a variety of individualized, community-based initiatives.

Connect to Community is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding and facilitating purposeful employment and enjoyment for adults with developmental disabilities. Further, in an effort to help these adults live the lives they desire and deserve within the community, we will provide person-centered services across all aspects of community life.

Through a combination of employment, educational seminars and tours, social/volunteer opportunities, and advocacy efforts, we aim to provide our clients with the resources that they need to create a meaningful day and a meaningful life.

Customized Employment News

Kolbi-Group-6-months-1080.jpg

Three of our CTC young adults recently celebrated their one-year employment anniversary at Kolbi Pipe Markers in Arlington Heights where they work one afternoon a week assembling sample packs.

This is a perfect example of a win-win situation where the skills of a job seeker are a match for an unmet need of a business in that Allie, Danny, and Michael can quickly and efficiently complete work that was previously done only by other company employees when they had time.

Kolbi’s cost to assemble the sample packs dropped by OVER 50% within weeks of Allie, Danny, and Michael taking on the job, and other employees can now focus on their own work responsibilities.

Many thanks to Kolbi staff for partnering with Connect to Community in this employment venture. We hope to connect more job seekers with area businesses as we grow our new Employer Outreach initiative.
